2-17-07 - "I attended Sellersville Elementary from Kindergarten thru the 5th Grade . . . . (in the 1960's) Teachers that I had in prior years were Mrs. Kocher, Mrs. Green, and Mrs. Gross and my principal was Mrs. Bonney. During my 5th grade year over Christmas Break. . . . .I was rushed to Grandview Hospital where surgery was performed and I had to stay for over 45 days and was unable to return to school the entire rest of the school year . . . During this time the faculty and staff of Sellersville Elementary were wonderful! Mrs. Green and Mrs. Gross tutored me at the hospital and at home. All I remember was that they were so very kind!"

Because of their thoughtfulness and caring nature I moved on and ended up graduating . . . in Oklahoma. We relocated to Oklahoma just prior to my 6th grade year. . . . .I am doing very well. ; I look back on my days in Sellersville, PA as some of the fondest days of my life. I hope very soon to come back and see the school during some of my travels for business. I hope that you will extend my gratitude to any of these teachers that may be able to be reached and let them know how well I am doing and because of them I am what I am today! . . . My kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Day.

2-21-07 - "I was a student there in 1983-1984 I believe. I went through 5th and 6th grade. I remember my 6th grade teacher. Her name is Miss. Herstine. I think she still teaches 6th grade. I remember her because she was so nice to me. I was having a very hard time. It was hard for me to fit in. My father was in the Marines and had moved us from Tennessee. I had a really bad southern accent. And a lot of the kids made fun of me. But she gave me the courage to hold my head high and not listen to all those kids. I wish I had told her what great teacher and person she is. I'd like to thank her for making me a better person. And back then we were the Unicorns, not the Sharks. The school had a drawing contest to put the school mascot on a seal to put in some of the library books, and I won that contest. I was very proud of that. I doubt there is any of those left after all these years. I had a wonderful time in Sellersville. I only lived there for three years but it was very memorable. I now live back in Sevierville, Tennessee and long to visit Sellersville to see how everything has changed after 20 some years. Sincerely, Mary Jane Eanes"

9-6-07 - "Hi kids, My name is David and I love your school's website. When I went to Sellersville Elementary, we didn't have a website. In fact there were no computers, no ipods, and no cable TV. Cell phones were just an idea that we read about in science fiction books!

I started in Kindergarten in 1966 and went all the way through 6th grade at Sellersville. I lived a mile away and we walked to school every day - in the snow - uphill - both ways! There were busses back then, but we lived too close to get the bus. Since then, I went to Pennridge South, Pennridge High School, and on to college. Now I have a good job and I make tons and tons of money! (well not really, but I like my job a lot, and that's what's important).

People have always told me I'm smart. I don't know if I'm that smart but I always got excellent grades in high school and in college. I'm not telling you that to brag, but I want you to know something very important.

Almost everything important that I ever learned, I learned there at Sellersville Elementary School!

What you're learning there today will be the foundation of everything you'll need to know. If you can add, subtract, multiply and divide, then you'll be able to tackle EVERY math problem you'll ever come up against! (and I come up against some whoppers). If you can read, write, spell, and know how to form a decent sentence, then you'll be able to tackle ANY book you'll ever need to read, or any report you'll need to write. (and you'll need to do lots of these!)

I know lots of grown-ups who people think are kind of dumb. I don't think they're that dumb, but they never got these basic things figured out. Believe me, you don't want to go through life without knowing how to spell, or without knowing how to work with numbers. So don't goof off! Well, I guess it's ok to goof off a little bit, but make sure you learn these things because when you're old like me, I want you to be able to get a job that you like, and I want people to think that YOU'RE smart too!

Best wishes to all of you.

4-2-08 - "I think every child's attitude towards school is shaped by their experiences in elementary school. I attended Sellersville Elementary from K-6th grade and loved my school experiences so much that I am now a freshman at West Chester University working towards a major in Elementary Ed and a minor in Special Ed. Each and every one of my teachers impacted me in a positive way. (Mrs. Seachrist, Mrs. Derstine, Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Myers, Mrs. Yoder.)"

4-24-08 "I went to Sellersville Elementary School from Kindergarten through 6th grade. I was blessed with wonderful teachers and a great education as a result. My teachers were (in order from K-6) Mrs. May, Mrs. Schroy, Mrs. Hendricks, Mrs. C. Derstine, Mrs. Myers, Mr. Knapp and Miss Butler/Mrs. Fuller (2 for sixth grade). I also had Mrs. Krot for gifted from 2nd grade on. I graduated from Pennridge in 2003 and got my Bachelors in Mathematics at Millersville University in 2007. Shortly thereafter I married my best friend, Ryan Flannery, who graduated from Millersville a year earlier than I. Currently I am working for the PA Dept of Labor & Industry doing statistical work. My husband works for Central Dauphin School District in Harrisburg... he teaches 7th grade math and let's just say, seeing the way things are run in his school makes me very thankful for the education I received at Pennridge! I attribute all good things in my life to God's grace and faithfulness to me- including my time at Sellersville."
